Cub Scout End of Year Ceremony

Hi everybody, remember me?  Sorry it's been so long since I posted, but I have a lot to catch everybody up on.

Last month Louis' cub scout troop had their end of year ceremony.  Here is my favorite Bear Cub and his proud papa.

Not only did Louis earn some badges, but he and the other Bear Cubs moved up, and are now Webelos.

They got a certificate stating that they had completed all their Bear Cub requirements.

And then they all got new Webelos neckerchiefs.

The Vancouver Children's Cultural Parade

Every year in Vancouver all the third grade students from all the schools in the district put on a cultural parade.  Louis and his class all learned about a different country from their heritage, and made a poster to wear in the parade showing off everything that they learned.

Happy 5th Birthday Alice!

Back in April Alice turned 5 years old!  I can't believe it either.  We had a little birthday party for her at our house.

We decorated the dining room in a Princess theme which Alice picked out.

 There was pizza (from Papa Murphy's, of course).

It was also Hector's birthday.  Here are the two happy birthday people.

 I made Alice a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and sprinkles.

This was the point that we realized that I accidentally bought trick birthday candles.

Alice loved all of her presents. 

Hector's sister gave him some wine for his birthday (she knows him so well).  After the presents we all went to the local bounce house playland, where the kids had lots of fun, but I didn't take any pictures.

Eric and Genna's Wedding

While we were in California we went to Eric (my cousin) and Genna's wedding. It was the first wedding that Louis or Alice had ever been to.  The wedding venue was right on the beach and was very pretty.

Alice Loves Egg Gathering

My parents got some baby chicks when we were visiting last year, and now they have a small brood of laying hens.  While we were at my parents' house, Alice took over the job of egg gathering.  She would check on the hens two, three, or even four times a day. 

She was very good about putting the eggs away in the refrigerator.  She only dropped a couple.

She also named each one of them.  This one was called "Eggy".  Here she is saying good-bye to Eggy as she put him in his new home.

Alice liked the chickens too, but mostly from outside the coop.
