Louis' New Bike

Louis had his eighth birthday in September.  (I know, I can't believe it either.)  It was a subdued celebration because we were all sick.  He did, however, get a totally cool, super awesome new bike.

Hector took Louis to pick it out himself.  I think he did a great job.

First Day of Second Grade

Our little boy started second grade this year.  We all went to drop him off for the first day of school.  He's so big now, I can hardly stand it.  Luckily for him I was able to control myself and only sung "Sunrise, Sunset" while we were in the car.

Fun in the Sun

This summer the kids and I went to visit my parents in California. Uncle Alex was there too, visiting all the way from Germany.

We had a great time, lots of swimming.

My dad built these steps in his yard.

He also built a retaining wall.  Pretty impressive.

But he also took some time out to have fun with Alice.

Camping at Detroit Lake

For my birthday last month we went camping at Detroit Lake in Oregon.  The scenery was gorgeous and we all had a lot of fun.  There was a play ground for the kids, and we all went swimming in the lake.

Louis made dinner.  Later we roasted marshmallows over the fire and made s'mores.

I didn't take too many pictures (had too much fun camping), but I did take a few shots of the lake in the morning.

Barbeque for Cody and Brooke

While Cody and Brooke were here for the summer everyone got together for a barbeque at Hector's parents house.
