We had a fun and laid-back Thanksgiving this year. My parents came up to visit for the weekend and Aunt Angie and Brooke came over for dinner.
Here's Alice looking super cute and fancy.
Louis and Grandpa Brian played some surprisingly competitive chess. Louis gave him a run for his money, but Grandpa came out on top.
Alice and her cousin.
Alice and her aunt.
Hector and his niece.
Me and my turkey.
The kids were so excited to eat, they couldn't even wait for the rest of us.

Halloween 2016
We had a fun Halloween this year. We started off Halloween weekend with some pumpkin carving.
I made the kids do the scooping out this year.
The finished products. Here's my Hillary pumpkin, and Alice's scary face.
Here's Louis #12 Seahawk pumpkin, and Hector's goofy jack-o-lantern.
This year the kids took over and put together their own costumes. Louis was a vampire, and Alice was a "peacock fairy". They made themselves some pretty spiffy costumes.
Even though we got over 8.5 inches of rain in October, we lucked out and had a few dry hours for trick-or-treating.

Pumpkin Patch 2016
In October we went with one of Louis' friends from Cub Scouts to a pumpkin patch.
It was a little cold and muddy, but the kids were troopers. Here's Louis and his friend Danny.
Alice in front of the hay bale maze.
Tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch.
So many to chose from.
Everyone had to carry their own pumpkins. Alice picked a reasonably sized one.
Louis picked the biggest one he could carry.

Louis' Tenth Birthday
Our big boy turned ten years old last month. I can't believe how big he's gotten.
For his birthday we had cake and ice cream with Louis' aunt and cousin.
Louis wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate ice cream. It was a chocolate extravaganza.
Louis being a Pokemon master.
Happy Birthday, Louis!

First Day of School 2016
This was a big year for the Wolf-Huerta household. Alice started kindergarten, and Louis started fourth grade.
Check out my kooky kids on the first day of school.
Hector was able to meet us at school to send the kids off.
Here's Alice waiting with her class in the school gym.

Aunt Linda comes to Visit
Late this summer Aunt Linda came to visit us for the weekend. While she was here we took a short tour of some of the site of the northwest.
We went to Multnomah Falls. It was very pretty, but very crowded. Here Louis tried to give up all a heart attack.
Then we drove up to show Aunt Linda Timberline Lodge.
It's quite a view at the top.
Walking along the tree line.
Alice is muy fuerte.

Tide Pools at Camp Clark
One of the coolest things about cub scout camp was the fact that the camp was right next to one of two private beaches along the Oregon coast.
One of the field trips we went on was a walk down to the tide pool at low tide.
We saw some sea anemones, hermit crabs, and regular crabs.
Louis was a little nervous walking on the rocks because they were very slippery.
Louis also thought that the beach was a pretty good place to read.
