Capitol Christmas Tree

Last weekend the Capitol Christmas Tree made a stop in Vancouver on its way to Washington D.C.  It's from the Colville National Forest in the northeast part of the state.  You can see more about it here: http://capitolchristmastree.com/
The tree was pretty well packed up, but there were decorated viewing windows.

On the sides of the tree there were banners where you could sign your name. The banners will be displayed near the tree when it's in Washington D.C.

Trick-or-Treat!

We had a great Halloween this year.

Our jack o'lanterns looked sufficiently spooky.  Hector and Louis made the vampire one.
Louis put together his own costume this year.  He called himself a "cowboy villain". He was very proud of his outfit.  I was only able to get a couple quick shots of him dressed up; the lure of candy was too much.
Check out the corn stalks, they were the ones from our garden this summer.
Alice was Amelia Earhart.    I wasn't sure if she would like it, but once she realized there was candy involved she really got into the whole trick-or-treating thing.  She knocked on front doors and everything.  I think she got extra candy just for being so cute.

Check out that awesome pink pumpkin. Alice insisted upon on.
