Pumpkin Carving and Halloween Crafts

Happy Halloween Everyone!  We've been busy putting up some spooky decorations at our house.

Louis and I made a skeleton out of paper plates.  We couldn't decide if it should have a scary face or a happy face, so it ended up without one.
Louis got everything ready for the pumpkin carving.

The kids started scooping out the insides...
but it didn't last long.
Alice drew the face for her jack-o-lantern.
Voila!

Alice and Louis did a good job supervising.
We also made this family of cheese cloth ghosts.  The rest of us think they're cute, but Alice won't walk underneath them, even though she helped make them.

More Pumpkin Patch Fun

Here's all the kids' favorite, the giant corn bin.

Alice couldn't quite get the hang of the mini tractors.  Maybe next year.
The last thing we did was the corn maze.  Louis took the lead.

Pumpkin Chuckin' and the Petting Zoo

The pumpkin patch had a really fun pumpkin launch.
There was some debate about who got their pumpkin the closest to the target.
Alice was so excited to ride the pony.  She talked about it the whole time we were there.  Then she made it about quarter of the way around before she had to get off, even though I was holding on to her the whole time.

Louis was a little disappointed that he didn't get to ride the pony with his sister.
The bunny rabbit at the petting zoo was more Alice's speed.
She also liked the chickens.

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend was absolutely gorgeous, so we all headed down to the pumpkin patch.  When we got there, our first order of business was the tractor ride to the pumpkin fields to pick out the perfect future jack-o-lantern.

Alice wanted a "baby" one.

Look, I was there too.

Happy Birthday to Louis

A couple weekends ago we celebrated Louis' birthday with a super awesome bowling party.  Louis and some of his friends got to bowling, eat pizza and cake and play in the game room.  Everybody had a blast.

Unfortunately bowling allies are not very good places for picture taking, so you'll just have to trust me.

Ceci and Carlo Come to Vancouver

Hector's sister, Ceci, and her son, Carlo, came to visit us in Vancouver.  Hector and Alice took them, along with Hector's parents, on a tour of the Columbia River Gorge.

At Multnomah Falls.
