Thanksgiving Weekend

My parents came up  for Thanksgiving this year, and we had a great time hanging out.

Here is the obligatory turkey shot, which was pretty much the only picture we took during Thanksgiving.

We also picked out our Christmas tree.  The weather looked good when we left the house, but by the time we got to the lot it was pretty cold and rainy.

We managed to pick out a good one, and in record time.

Hector did the cutting.  I think this was the fasted he ever managed to cut one down.

Halloween 2017

Happy Halloween!  Here are some pictures of the kids carving pumpkins. 

 Louis did most of the scooping, which was awesome.

Thanksgiving 2016

We had a fun and laid-back Thanksgiving this year. My parents came up to visit for the weekend and Aunt Angie and Brooke came over for dinner.

Louis and Grandpa Brian played some surprisingly competitive chess.  Louis gave him a run for his money, but Grandpa came out on top.

Halloween 2016

We had a fun Halloween this year.  We started off Halloween weekend with some pumpkin carving.

I made the kids do the scooping out this year.

This year the kids took over and put together their own costumes.  Louis was a vampire, and Alice was a "peacock fairy".  They made themselves some pretty spiffy costumes.

Even though we got over 8.5 inches of rain in October, we lucked out and had a few dry hours for trick-or-treating.

Pumpkin Patch 2016

In October we went with one of Louis' friends from Cub Scouts to a pumpkin patch.

It was a little cold and muddy, but the kids were troopers.  Here's Louis and his friend Danny.

Louis' Tenth Birthday

Our big boy turned ten years old last month.  I can't believe how big he's gotten.

For his birthday we had cake and ice cream with Louis' aunt and cousin.

Louis wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate ice cream.  It was a chocolate extravaganza.
